Happy New Year. We all look forward to engaging your children in enriching and exciting lessons in English, Math, Science, World Studies, Mindfulness, Nature, Music and Art throughout the year.
March 2023
Today, we are celebrating "Read Across America Day", with special QO guest readers:) This month we also focused on several STEM activities, such as creating Slime; mixing colors and predicting the results; predicting buoyancy;and creating leprechaun projects; locating and identifying animal tracks. Lastly, we focused on "pepper and soap science" - a lab illustrating the importance of germs and washing your hands.
We also focused on English Language Arts (ELA) - reading time indoors and outdoors; discussing characters and predicting story themes and plots; in addition to practicing our alphabet and fine motor skills. We are also enhancing our addition, subtraction and beginning multiplication skills. Mindful activities include mindful breathing and yoga:)

It is hard to believe that it is that we are entering a new school year (2023-2024) and are welcoming new families to our Cougar Cub Preschool. The unit this month focuses on "Community Jobs and the Seasons". We took a deep look at how community workers can help us in our everyday lives. We also engaged in scientific experiments in STEM; phonological awareness; concepts of print; mathematical word problems and mindful breathing and yoga.

Dear Parent and Guardians,
Welcome to the Cougar Cub Preschool Lab located at Quince Orchard High School. My students and I are looking forward to teaching your children this coming school year.
In order to enroll your child, please return a completed application form, a signed copy of the MCPS ECD Lab Procedures.
Applications for the 2024-2025 school year are now being accepted.
Prior to your child attending our Cougar Club Preschool Lab please provide me with a check to secure your child’s place in the preschool. Address the check to “Quince Orchard HS/Cougar Cubs” for $100.00.00 deposit; or $300.00 (one semester) if you did not pay the deposit.
Or, you may e-mail your application to ( [email protected]) + drop off a $100 deposit, made out to "Quince Orchard HS/Cougar Cubs", will hold your child's place for the Cougar Cub Preschool, at this time.
If after you submit your application your child is not enrolled, or if your child is placed on the waiting list, your deposit will not be cashed. Checks not deposited will be shredded. All cashed deposits for enrolled children are
non-refundable. Upon enrollment of your child, the deposit will be applied to the first semester's tuition.
Immunizations are required for all children attending Montgomery County Public Schools Child Development programs. The form below is to be completed by your child's pediatrician and brought to orientation. Orientation information will be sent via Email once an application has been submitted and your child's enrollment is confirmed.
Please read the following details regarding the Cougar Cubs Preschool at a glance:
Dates: Approximately, October 21, 2024 through May 20, 2025; Monday through Thursday. No Fridays.
Time: 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM (approximate time)
Location: Quince Orchard High School; Preschool Lab, room #121
***Please Note: The preschool will be closed for MCPS holidays, seasonal breaks, and “Early Release Days.” I will provide you with a list of days the Cougar Cubs will not be in session, during our parent meeting.
Our first parent meeting will be in early October, at the Quince Orchard Preschool Lab, room # 121. You may park and enter in the back of the school by the playground.
